Replacing a Request List

You can replace the request list in an organizer with a request list from another binder's organizer or by uploading a comma separated values (CSV) file.

Request lists downloaded from another organizer are saved in the required format by default. See Downloading a Request List for instructions.

A request list created in Microsoft® Excel® file that meets the Closedfile specification requirements can be saved to a CSV file and then uploaded to the organizer to replace an existing request list.

The file specification requirements are:

  • The file must contain a row with the text SECTION NAME in one cell, followed by a cell with the text REQUEST ITEM. These cells must be in adjacent columns. Any text in the rows above this row is ignored.
  • Section names must be listed in the same column and in rows below the SECTION NAME cell.
  • Request list items must listed be in the same column and in rows below the REQUEST ITEM cell.
  • The first request list item for a section can either be on the same row as the section name or on any row below the section name row.
  • Blank rows will be skipped.
  • The file must not contain images.
  • Text formatting such as bullets are allowed.

Important: When you replace the request list for an organizer, any existing files, notes, and due dates from the original request list are also replaced.
