Setting the Retention End Date for an Organizer

The retention end date is the recommended date for deleting the organizer and its attachments as per your firm's file retention policy. Setting this date is optional. If a retention end date has been assigned, it displays under the Retention End label in the upper left part of the organizer. You can use this date, as well as the due date and period end date, to filter the list of organizers on the Organizers List page.

Important: Organizers where the retention end date has passed will automatically be deleted by the system. All attachments for the organizer will also be deleted.

To enter or edit the retention end date, do the following:

  1. Open the organizer, if it isn't already open.
  2. In the upper left, click Retention End.
  3. Enter the date.
  4. Click Save.
